What makes celebrities who they are?

Every now and then we hear or read about celebs. The increase in the number of celebrities in acting and music is due, to a great extent, to the media industries concentrating on celebrities' lives and enabling them to be viewed more often and in diverse places. Talent, fame and not much education would be sufficient to make you a millionaire celeb. At times, the profit celebrities gain from films or albums does not depend on talent. There are thousands of performers who are, probably, better than many of the big stars we admire and talk about. Still, their names would appear in small print, if printed. The hottest and most gifted stars in the business earn millions per movie or album. The Hottest meandthey are in demand. The Most gifted denotes they are the best in show business, because they have shown a first class, a world class talent. Being in the public eye, they set patterns of conduct for ordinary people. Often they set a negative behaviour pattern for their fans. In fact, the influence that celebs have on the average person is colossal. Plenty of young ladies do their utmost to look like celebrities and starve to death. People try to copy celebs, which often leads to substance abuse, explicit behaviour and misdemeanours. They often find their lives dull and uneventful compared to celebrities' and try to behave the way they do to add variety to their lives. Celebs' expensive dresses and costumes, jewels, perfect tan and makeup make ordinary people feel second-rate, which results in low self-esteem, lack of confidence and the inferiority complex. Another influence celebs have on our culture is that of invading one's privacy. Nothing is concealed any longer. Paparazzi pursue their every step and that seems to invade their right to privacy. They seem to be willing to risk anything to take a picture, which is a negative impact for our culture. Nevertheless, some celebs set a positive conduct pattern by raising money for charity, helping sick children and the elderly, promoting a healthy living-dash among children and teenagers. We should not idealize celebs, as they have both positive and negative qualities, and are not flawless, too.
